Halloween PJ Party at the Cheo's!

This Halloween, Scott and I had a party at our house for all of our friends. (And for me, because I like to dress up.) The theme was pj's, and it was hilarious to see what some of our friends came up with. Even my own husband thought it appropriate to wear a large pink, fuzzy robe with a shower cap and mask on his "t-zone," as he called it all night long. It was a great time, and we had plenty of night munchies to keep everyone full!

Fire Chasers 2007

I'm sure everyone by now has seen the fires in Southern California on the news. Fortunately, we were able to see them from our living room window. We live in beautiful San Clemente, and were within about 6 miles of the Camp Pendleton fires. And if you think being able to see them from our window was close enough, you are sorely mistaken. The other night, my friend Jenna came and picked Scott and I up, and we drove to the furthest south that we could and saw them right off of the freeway. The police made us evacuate after about ten minutes of fire gazing and I saw about a half hour later that the fire, soon after we left, jumped the interstate!

The Pumpkin Carvers

On Monday night, Scott and I went over my best friend Tiff's house and we all carved pumpkins. I haven't carved a pumpkin in years, we had so much fun. Scott and Lillie (Tiff's daughter and our goddaughter) carved the cutest pumpkin of all. It was a great night with great friends.

Dinner, comedy and more

Friday night was a big night for this social butterfly. I started out the evening with dinner at a Chinese restaurant with a few friends, and then my hubby whisked me away and surprised me with tickets to see Chelsea Handler, the hilarious female comedian, at the Brea Improv. We met our friends Jeff and Chelsea there, and were just in time for the ten o'clock show. I was so exhausted the next day!

Hottie!

Scotty has been really moving up the corporate ladder at his job. They like him so much that he is often asked to host certain events that the company has. The other night he hosted an event for Southern California. All of the bigwigs were there, and he did a really amazing job. It's his corny humor that gets them everytime.

Book Club

So, a little nerdy, I know, but since my friends and I all share a love for literature, I formed a book club a few months ago. We meet once a month to discuss our book, eat, drink wine, and then we choose another book for the next month. Last month we read Measure of a Man by Sydney Poitier, and this month we are reading A Hundred Years of Solitude. We have such a good time together! We probably spend about 45 minutes talking about the book, and then we just end up gossiping and laughing. It is the perfect excuse to mix things we all love; reading, food, wine, friends, and laughing!

Sunday Brunch

On Sunday we met our friends Brandon and Brooke, and their adoreable daughter Kiley for brunch in the Newport Back Bay. The food was delicious, and it was a perfect morning.

Yummy Yummy!

We have a long-standing tradition with some of our best friends, Jeff and Chelsea, where we all come over to our house, make dinner together, and then eat, drink and be merry into all hours of the night!! They came over the other night, and we had a taco bar and some Tecate, and toasted the night away to friends. Scotty was kind enough to remember to bust out the camera. Can life get any better?
