I love when Christine comes to visit!

My oldest, dearest friend Christine and her new man came to stay with us last weekend. We went out for Mexican food and then finished the night off with bowling. We then came back to our house, had dessert, went to bed and then Scott made us all his yummy pancakes the next morning!! We always have the best time with Christine and this time was no exception.

Valentine's Day surprises

For V-Day this year, Scott and I both planned surprises for one another. Scott sent me out shopping all day with my girlfriend. When I came home there were six red and pink balloons outside my house with a canvas on my door that Scott had painted that said "One balloon for every year we've been together... and 75 more for every year we have ahead until we live forever." I then opened our door to find 75 helium balloons on the ceiling of our living room. I then noticed that Scott had burned a CD with all of our favorite songs to listen to and he had also given me this computer ( a mac book air) and written out our story of how we met on our blog!!! I love him so much! My surprise for him was a teeny tiny little baby baseball outfit that he opened up and found out that he was going to be a DAD!! We couldn't be more excited for baby Cheo.

She was my waitress...

February 12, 2002:

My buddies from the baseball team and I had gotten free burger passes at Ruby's diner from our coach that day and we decided to use them. We strolled in to Ruby's at the Shops at Mission Viejo Mall and instead of waiting in line sat right down at the bar.
Katelyn happened to be our waitress that night. She was awesome. So much personality, wit, and good looks we made sure to make it a point to come back and see her again.

February 14, 2002:

I was standing with my buddies on the Saddleback college campus and in mid-conversation noticed a familiar face. Katelyn was walking by with her friend. I didn't recognize her right away without her candy-striped dress, but I could recognize that darling smile anywhere. We stared at each other for a second until she shouted, "You coming in tonight?!"
"You bet!" I said, rudely ignoring the person talking to me.

Valentine's evening. The same three buddies and I decided to go back to Ruby's for seconds since it was such a delightful experience before. The place was packed. There was a line about 20 deep waiting to be seated with children and young couples running around everywhere. However, there happened to still be four empty stools at the bar (hm...what are the odds).
Katelyn was, once again, our waitress. This time we interacted like we'd been friends all along. My buddies began noticing that every time she'd walk away I'd throw in an intrigued comment about her, so they started peer pressuring me to ask for her number.
I had never asked for a girls number before, especially one that I thought was 25 and out of my league (she still is). Right when they finally gave up, I mustered up the courage to ask her to see a movie with me that night.
"What are you doing tonight?" I said.
"Nothing. How sad, it's valentine's day and I have no date." (She was playing me like a flute)
"I've been wanting to see 'A Walk To Remember,' do you want to see it with me tonight?"
"Oh yeah?" She said laughing "You want to see that movie?"
"Well, I was going to see it with my mom, but we haven't gone yet." (She thought I was spitting game, but I was dead serious)
"Alright, here's my number. I get off around ten." She wrote it down on one of her guest checks that I crinkled up and put in my jean pocket. VICTORY!!!

That night she got off of work around 11:30p, so we didn't get a chance to see the movie until about a week later. However, we did talk for two hours on the phone right that night. And another two hours the next night. Two dates later at church, we realized we were soul mates. Six months later, we got married. Six years later, here we are, happier than when we first started dating...if that's possible.

Oh yeah, we just found out we're now due to have a baby in October. WAAAAAAHHOOOOOOOOOO!

HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY ANGEL! I LOVE YOU!

Superbowl Sunday

For Superbowl Sunday, Scott and I decided to have a small gathering. What started out to be just a few friends ended up being about 20 people!! I cooked all morning some of my favorite recipes (home made mac and cheese, tomato feta salad, chocolate chunk cookies, and the popular baked potato bar). We all had so much fun and we were all so incredibly stuffed by the end of the day. Go Giants!

Crowns and Cosmos

My friend Andrea had a Miss America viewing party at her house. The requirements were that each girl that attended had to wear a formal dress and put on a tiara for the whole night. We predicted the winners, drank cosmos and had a grand time. It's like the Superbowl for girls!! P.S. you are never too old to stuff your bra.

Passion Tour '08

For Christmas this year Scott and I had bought his two brothers, one of their friends and a few of our other friends tickets to go to the Passion Tour in Los Angeles on January 25-26th. It was a two day Christian concert that had a lot of bands, worship and various speakers. We all had such a fun time. We drove up to LA on the 25th and stayed overnight in a hotel and went to two days worth of conferences. We all were so inspired and Scott and I signed up to go to Thailand this June to work in the HIV clinics, an orphanage and also the brothels to help womena and children in forced prostitution. We are looking forward to this amazing experience.

Some time off together

Scott and I had an ENTIRE weekend off together and so we chose to hang around and do some stuff that we haven't gotten around to. We ended up going and seeing Jay Mohr at the Improv on Friday night he was HILARIOUS. I woke up Saturday morning to heart shaped blueberry pancakes that my honey made for me, and then we took a trip to the outlets in Carlsbad to buy me new clothes... ;) We ended up in Temecula and went wine tasting. We love wine tasting. Although it wasn't quite like our time in Italy, it was still an amazing weekend.
At the Temecula winery. (and afterwards laughing in the car)

Lunch with our friends. (the guys were all too cool)
