Seven Wonders of my World
Allison who is living in Kenya tagged me. I figure if someone in Africa tags you, you do what they say.
1. I am the crisis friend. I spend so much time on my phone everyday with friends and family, hearing about their lives, and listening to their issues. I absolutely love it though. I feel so fortunate to have people in my life that I can actually do LIFE with. Scott estimates that I spend at least 3 hours a day devoted to my "peeps", as he calls them.
2. I have total ADD. Well, not really, but it seems that way. I have an extreme amount of energy, and I have a hard time sitting still for even a minute. I cannot even just sit down to watch T.V. I'll usually be writing a letter, reading a magazine, painting my nails, talking on the phone, cleaning something up, or making a list. (Or of course, BLOGGING) at the same time. It even takes me forever to wind down and go to sleep at night. I have to take a hot bath, drink some sleepy time tea, read a book, and lay in bed forever before I can fall asleep. I think I may have insomnia too, but that's a different story.
3. I am obsessed with doing anything creative. Photography and writing are definitely at the top of this list, but painting, decorating, fashion, crafts, making cards, knitting... the list goes on and on. I don't feel completely fulfilled unless I have at least 3-4 major projects going on. Throwing parties are also included in this category. Every excuse I can there is a party that is thrown. I have a book club, a brunch club, and not to mention all of the ridiculous parties we throw for no reason. I am lucky to have a husband that thinks that this is entertaining. Poor Scott, comes home from work and there's a new wall painted in our house, a collage of my photos framed and hung up on it, and a house full of people who have come over to celebrate the release of Sex and the City on DVD. I think it keeps him on his toes.
4. I have certain phrases that I use WAY too much. Things like "you're so lame," or "you freak," or "who says I don't know how to (fill in the blank)" are used and overused until I find something else. My students have even begun to laugh every time they hear certain catch phrases because it is so predictable. I even have some that I reserve only for my class. For instance, if someone is talking while I am I usually say, "Hey, excuse me so and so, remember me? Your teacher?" Oh, I am so lame.
5. I am a total bohemian hippie. No lie. I caught myself the other day telling one of my friends that irreverence for convention is what I have struggled with my whole life. Who says that? I also love to make organic food, create my "nest" and philosophize and muse with people I care about. The list goes on and on but let's suffice it to say that I really embrace the bohemian lifestyle, and find no conflicts between that and my faith in the Lord. I think that God probably thinks it's oh so adorable.
6. I like to spend money on trinkets that don't mean anything. When I go shopping I really enjoy buying little match boxes, candles, books, clicky pens that I find intriguing, craft supplies, and always a number of paper goods. I love buying pretty dividers, folders, pads of paper and stationary. My friends tell me I have a paper fetish, and I'm beginning to think it's the truth. The other day I went shopping and bought; rhinestones, stationary, a pumpkin spice candle, and a pad of paper that is magnetic to put on the fridge. Somebody save me from myself.
7. Last but certainly not least... I believe in LOVE. I believe in love more than anything else in the entire world. I have been with my husband now for six- almost seven years, and I love him more now than the day I met him. I'm not talking the little girl infatuation love, although I do have plenty of that for him. I am talking the knock down drag out, don't know what you did without that person type of love. I find that the more I begin to understand this love, the more capable I am to expand my heart and love others as well. I realized when I met Scott how much God must love us and that has only been the beginning of this incredible love journey. I am able to love my friends and my family so much more as well. I think love is the most powerful thing in the whole world. It is what caused people to sacrifice themselves to save others, and it is what caused the most important sacrifice of all. I am so lucky to have found this out so young. I think Brinkley couldn't be born at a more appropriate time.
I tag Beckey, Julie, Heather, JIllian, Chelsea, Kiana, and Jessica.

Soccer Saturday!
I got to go to this little angel's soccer game this Saturday. This little sweetie is my god-daughter Lillie, and she is precious! She did so well, and her mom and I were so proud of her. Tiffany and I kept talking about how we can't wait to go to Brinkley's games in a few years!

Walders Family
I have been huge fan of photography for a long time, and I often am asked to take pictures of my friends and their kids. I took these pictures for my friend Gina, who is the kindergarten teacher at my school. I loved being around their family and their sweet kids, this photo shoot was so much fun! I am trying to build up my portfolio so that I can run a business, heck, I've done it for long enough!!
